You don’t need to be Superwoman.
Struggling to find balance? Want to do it ALL but can barely keep your head above the water?
I hear you sister!
Why do we put so much pressure on ourselves to do it ALL? Who are we trying to impress?
Really? No one is standing there handing you out a medal. If anyone knows this, it is me (story for another time)!
If you know me, you will know that I am a list-writer (it's the school teacher in me, what can I say?🤷♀️).
I love making lists of ALL the things I need to do in the day and I love even more when I start ticking them off!
Ticking things off your list releases Dopamine (our reward hormone), let’s feed that thing!!!!
BUT the truth is, on some days I stack that list so high that it makes me feel so overwhelmed. I struggle to complete those lists and down goes my dopamine levels and I'm left feeling disappointed with myself!
We can't all be 🦸♀️?
SO how do we overcome this?
Write 📝 lists - they are great in helping you to feel organised and create that sense of accomplishment BUT..... break down the list into:
🔴 RED light - urgent, must do immediately!
🟠 Yellow light - Important, do next.
🟢 Green light - not so urgent can be done later.
Don't be concerned if you don't get to the Green light tasks, add them to your list tomorrow, and prioritise them again! You may even find the Green light tasks aren't even important at all and you could probably ditch them altogether!
This little system (so simple) will help take away the anxiety and give you the balance you need in your day to do the things they are most weighing on you.
The world doesn't need another Superwoman!
It needs a high functioning and emotionally balanced woman just like you!
